Forward Office System - Freight Forwarding System   Examples solutions:
1   Shipping data previously captured by overseas parties and agents, mapped (EDI'd) into Forward Office to create import jobs on the system - thus dramatically reducing re-keying data from pre-alerts etc.

Waste Management Ticket System This is an application that replaced a labour intensive process of writing tickets manually (slow, often incomplete and illegible) to accompany drivers to manage the process of recycling waste.
Address details, sites, driver, vehicles, waste types etc. are all controlled by static tables making it quick to select and filled most of the form automatically. The spin off was easy management reporting and statistics.

Document Scanning.     This customer wanted to be able to scanned documents in, such as proof of Deliveries (PODs), copies of data charts and even images (scanned or already in jpg format), and linked them together by their own internal filing/references system. It meant that documents could be recalled and reprinted at any time. The additional benefit on this example, was the customer was able to link to his invoicing module and print the PODs with the cost summary merged into the printed output.

Work Evaluation.     This program was develop fro a customer to cost work from a pricing schedules agreed with its clients. The work measures were entered against the schedule and the costs built up and calculated. This provided a details break-down to support a bulk invoice. Additional benefits were to export the data into Excel for reporting and trend analysis - e.g. between these dates how many of x did we do, how did that compare with the previous month? etc.

Cost Estimating.     This is an example of the power of a database solution over Excel spreadsheets to arrive at complex cost estimation. This example relates to importing containers from overseas where purchasing terms, freight costs, insurance, duty, clearance, and landside are based on different factors, which can be derived from a set of look-up tables. Some costs are lump sum, some are a percentage of combined costs (e.g. custom's duty), some are based ports, UK mileage etc. With this module the customer was able to change the quantities and re-model costs to arrive at the best unit cost (known as Delivered Duty Paid)

Triathlon Management System.     The organisers of this event were finding the recording, calculating and publishing their results very time consuming and liable to error. With this system only the candidates start times needed to be entered and the calculations made immediately. Within minutes of a candidate competing the event they were give their personal results. Within minutes of the last candidate completing, the results of the whole event could be published, as well as best of category (e.g. over 40s) by linking to the runners look-up table.
